Crazy-infused moi

The first week of the fall semester has barely come to a close, and already I feel the stress sinking into my bones. I think that’s due to everything around me is turning into this radically new experience. And all this newness is giving me a bit of anxiety.

All this change started with my job at HYPE. There’s been a lot of department restructuring, some people go fired and I now have a new boss. Work doesn’t feel like the super relaxed place it used to be. The office went from three graphic designers down to one (me) and I’m definitely feeling the pressure.

And while all that may seem really negative, I can actually see myself already growing from the stress into a better designer. Already, I’ve made a logo that I’m quite proud of for our restructured department.

Another big thing happening this semester is my honors thesis. For that, I’m working with the creative writing director at USF, Professor Ciresi. My thesis will be a collection of about nine short fiction stories and titled Making Porn with Clothes On. Right now, it feels like such a large undertaking, though I’m excited to see where it goes. There will be more updates about that project as it unfolds.

My first internship!

In some of the most breaking news, I was hired as an intern today for Moving Hillsborough Forward. If you don’t know what that is already, it’s a political campaign that aims to bring a better bus system, a light rail system and improved roads to Hillsborough County. Ever since I took a course on mass transit last spring, I’ve been passionate about this issue. I’ll be talking about this a lot because it’s on the ballot in November!

I can’t wait to see where all of this takes me. I can only expect learn and grow exponentially.

By the way, I think the only real change that hasn’t stressed me out is my new apartment. It’s purple and it’s perfect <3
